“So I actually did apply for a job today, one at American Apparel.
Everything sounded fine, even I thought my cover letter sounded pretty darn good. But the only thing I f-ed up badly on was the photo part – like how does one person mess that up?
All applicants are supposed to send a photo of themselves (preferably head-to-toe, just for them to know what kind of fashion sense you have). Well, I definitely sent them a photo. A good photo of a dining table, that is.
I had to take 3 nice photos of our dining table because our family was planning to sell it off to some furniture store. Little did I know, somebody from my great family renamed the photos as the same name of the photos of me for my job application.
So maybe American Apparel were satisfied with my cover letter, until they realized that the person who sent it looks like this …”

Alles hörte sich gut an, ich dachte sogar, mein Anschreiben hörte sich echt supergut an. Das einzige, was ich übel versaut habe, war das mit dem Bild – wie kann ein einziger Mensch das nur so durcheinanderbringen?
Alle Bewerber sollen ein Bild von sich einsenden (vorzugsweise ein Ganzkörperfoto, einfach damit sie sehen können, was für einen Sinn für Mode du hast). Nun, ich habe ihnen wirklich ein Foto geschickt. Ein Foto von einem Esstisch nämlich.
Ich musste drei Fotos von unserem Esstisch machen, weil unsere Familie ihn an irgendein Möbelgeschäft verkaufen wollte. Ich wusste aber nicht, dass jemand aus meiner tollen Familie die Fotos umbenannt hat, so dass sie den gleichen Namen hatten wie die Fotos von mir für meine Bewerbung.
Also war American Apparel vielleicht ganz zufrieden mit meinem Anschreiben, bis sie bemerkten, dass die Person, die es abgeschickt hat, so aussieht …”
